KDH340 The Sandbox

My family has been coming to the Outer Banks since my mother was a child. My husband and I, our kids and grandkids live in Florida and rest of our family in Virginia. We decided it was time for another family reunion, and added in my youngest daughter’s wedding. This house had everything we needed and plenty of room for my parents, my brothers, sister-in-laws , cousins and all the grandkids. We had spectacular sunrises and a beautiful sunset hour beach wedding. It was definitely a challenge getting up and down all the stairs to the beach, did help leaving all the chairs in the gazebo, my favorite spot were the chairs on the top deck , I loved sitting out there reading and watching the waves and dolphins. It is super convenient to shopping and restaurants and right next to our beloved Cavalier Motel that we’ve been going to since my mom was younger. Highly recommend this property!!!!

This house is great! And directly across the street from the best Pizza place (Sal's pizza) and Gelato next to it. Lots of places to shop and eat within walking distance. This house has plenty of room for all family members and lots of amenities (3 full size refrigerators). We have visited the Outer Banks for 13 years and this was our first time staying at this property. The kitchen is amazing and has everything you need. They even had metal kabob skewers! Just look through the drawers and I promise you will not be disappointed. There are 1/2 bathrooms on the bottom and top floors. Great for game nights and quick access from the pool. The cabana area is spacious and the two gas grills that worked out perfectly (one for chicken and the other for hamburgers). The rooms are spacious. Theater was a hit with the kids. Having a dumpster instead of trash cans was perfect. The gazebo is great for late night star gazing and placing your beach gear. The only downside was beach access for people with hip, knee or leg issues. We shoveled the stairs, which made it a little easier but was still an issue (short climb up a small hill from the beach). Climate changes so this may not be an issue in the future. All-in-all, great property !!

This was our 3rd annual group trip to the OBX & our first time in this house. We had 19 adults and at no point felt like we were on top of one another. The only "issue" was that the light in the elevator did not work. No one to blame for this. The bulbs were out of stock. We originally booked the house through a different Realty company and I was concerned when the owner went with a different company midway through the year. Coastal honored that contact and were great to work with. They checked in every day via text but it wasn't annoying at all. More of an FYI, "we are here if you need us" text.

We had a wonderful time! We had 2 handicap needs, one walking issues and a wheelchair. Elevator was great, wonderfully painted. My mistake in not making sure bathroom was accessible but they came and worked with me in getting bathroom door removed and a deck chair put in shower. Above and beyond help quickly.. Thank you so much. Would definitely use CoastalCarolina again. Now if only you could make the weather cooperate! It was chilly, but thank goodness for the hot tub!

My family of 22 had a wonderful time - we watched movies in the theater room, really enjoyed the heated pool and the private beach. We flew kites, played pool! There was plenty for everyone! It was very nice that even the kids could have their own rooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed the decks and the nice chairs and hot tub - plus the elevator was super for bringing in groceries and those with bad knees !! It was closely located to grocery stores and shopping for the kids - my brother and the boys loved getting up at 5:30 in the morning and fishing at the beach! I can honestly say it was one of the best vacation houses we have ever stayed in and the office personnel were so friendly and helpful! Thank you all very much!!
