The Misfits Bars of Christmas Crawl is bringing seasonal fun and holiday cheer to the Outer Banks. 15 of the area's favorite restaurants are going all out with dazzling Christmas decorations, special holiday menus, and signature drinks. You're invited to experience the magic of the season and discover why the Outer Banks should be a top holiday destination!

Roanoke Island Oyster Shellabration and BBQ Event

Roanoke Island Oyster Shellabration and BBQ

  • Location: 708 Harbor Rd, Wanchese

The Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA) is proud to announce the first year of this brand new event. The Inaugural Shellabration and BBQ event will take place November 2nd, 2025 at the Safe Harbor Marina and Tiki Bar. This event is sponsored, in part, by a grant from the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.

Get ready to enjoy an afternoon among the boats in Wanchese at this new event, brought to you by the team that has hosted The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival for seven years!

You'll have the opportunity to sample oysters from NC Growers, BBQ from Pigman's, and other regional food specialties. Shucked, roasted, and fried oysters, plus local shrimp, chowders, biscuits, and desserts will be served. 

Entertainment will include live music by the Blue Crab Boys and a special Pow Wow presentation performed by Indigenous cast members of The Lost Colony.

The ticket price is $95, includes all food and two drink tickets, along with live music and a raffle. There is plenty of parking available, and please note that all guests must be at least 21 years old.
