Events for Monday, February 16, 2026

Kitty Hawk Trail 5K

Location: 900 W. Kitty Hawk Road Kitty Hawk, NC 27949
Starts: 10am

Runners of all ages and experience levels are invited to take part in the Kitty Hawk Trail 5K on President’s Day, February 16, with the race scheduled to start at 10 a.m. from the Kitty Hawk Skate Park (900 W. Kitty Hawk Rd.).

The out-and-back 5K course will wind through the Kitty Hawk Woods maritime forest, offering participants a trail-running experience in a natural setting. It features a gravel start transitioning to a fairly level trail with roots and soft running surfaces, and will be a great introduction to trail running with a low key, family friendly vibe.

Participation is free for anyone age 18 and under, while a donation from adult participants is suggested at $10. This event is organized by the First Flight Track Club and all proceeds support local student runners. Only 100 running spots are available for this event.

The race will begin and end at the Kitty Hawk Skate Park, located at 900 W. Kitty Hawk Road. Registration details and additional information are available through the First Flight Track Club at https://www.fftrackclub.org/races-1.
